Humane Education Programs

The Ontario SPCA Muskoka Branch operates a small Humane Education Program to help promote compassion for animals and a greater understanding of the role and services the shelter provides. The Program includes Awareness Days, which give the community an opportunity to learn more about the Branch and its services outside of the shelter. Local merchants donate space for the Branch to set up a booth and showcase adoptable animals (space permitting), and shelter staff are available to answer questions, show videos and learn more about the community's concerns and interests.

As part of our Humane Education Program we are also available to speak to school groups on issues related to the care and protection of companion animals as well as the role of the Muskoka Branch within the community. Please note that this program is available at limited times due to our small staff size. If you are interested in volunteering in our Humane Education Program we would be greatly appreciative!

To learn more about our Humane Education Program, please contact the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Branch Manager, Jane McCamus, at 705-645-6225 or jmccamus@ospca.on.ca. Thank you for your interest!
